Hamm’s started with Clinton Hamm over 30 years ago. He then took on an apprentice, Jim Deden, who he eventually passed the business onto. They offered a service that wasn’t previously available to a community that really needed it. This community, Groveland, and it’s surrounding areas are rich in California history and is a mountain utopia for those who call it home.
Dan Kohn is one of those people that breathes a little easier as soon as his car pulls into town. A place that has been home to his family for years, he had been looking for an opportunity to create a life for his family that would allow them to flourish and saw the dream realized in Hamm’s Carpet Cleaning. Dan had been employed in the Bay Area doing carpet cleaning and reconstruction work, but was not satisfied with the city lifestyle. Groveland was always in the back of his mind, eager to find his way to move there and flourish. This idea became more pressing as he fell in love with Britta Harline, a single mom looking to run her own business and be part of something bigger. On one of their trips to Groveland to visit family, they heard about Jim looking for someone to take on the business. It was a perfect match and they jumped right in! It didn’t take long for Jim to train Dan and show him what the customers here have come to expect.
Dan and Britta have made sure to provide the same great service that both Jim and Clinton have provided for the community for all these years. After all, this is home. Serving this community is the greatest dream they could have realized.
